February 21, 2019, lead battery manufacturers centralized collection and trans-regional transit system pilot workshop held in Beijing. Relevant leaders from the solid waste and Chemicals Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Environmental Law Enforcement Bureau, the fixed Management Center, the Transport Services Department of the Ministry of Transport and Transport, as well as 21 pilot provinces and cities, eco-environmental departments, industry associations, and lead battery manufacturers. More than 80 representatives of recycled lead enterprises gathered together to discuss how to fight the fight against waste lead battery pollution prevention and control.

The participants held a heated discussion on how to promote the implementation of the extended producer responsibility system, establish a standardized and orderly collection system, and improve the collection and handling rate of waste lead-acid batteries in the formal channels, with a view to scientific distribution and overall development. Some constructive measures have been put forward to crack down on illegal collection, utilization and disposal, strengthen supervision and management, and promote information construction.
